Spring in British Columbia

Lifestyle Blog April 24, 2019

As soon as I stepped outside in Vancouver, I felt myself shift; as though I had found my place. It was the perfect blend of city and outdoor wilderness. A balance between modern architecture and serene beauty of nature with salty air from the Pacific Ocean was surreal. I felt absolute bliss and a sense of ease with the lifestyle that was quickly making me want to shift my life from the East all the way to the Western end of the country.

Despite losing my wallet on the plane, being in BC for Time Series training, having connectivity issues, an inability to access both training and work items on my laptop, and no money to eat; I was happy for the most part to be in Vancouver. I also had the chance to go to Whistler and stay at the Four Seasons, which was incredible. Whistler was stunning!

The only thing that had me excited to come back home to NL was the cost of housing in BC. It was astronomical and I could not imagine living in a shoe box and paying an arm and leg for it. I just couldn’t do it. But, I would be very tempted to move to BC if the right opportunity came along.
